HLPA Industry Forecast 2014

Although higher lumber consumption resulted in a boost for domestic production in 2013, suppliers remained cautious with inventory. The recent government shutdown caused a ripple effect throughout the economy and created a feeling of uncertainty for many in the industry.

HLPA Launches New
Marketing Campaign

"WOOD, Growing Today. Building our Tomorrow". With ads in Building Industry Magazine & Fix it Fridays Radio program, plus our quarterly ENewsletters, our new theme this year focuses on the positive economic impacts that choosing and building with wood have on our local economy. Similar to last year HLPA members will be included in our advertisements. Since lumber is the most sustainable of all building materials, it makes perfect sense to enlighten our audience about the bright future builders and developers have when choosing wood. Not only green & sustainable, but economically the best choice. We'll feature these types of editorials throughout the year as well. Our big June Resource Guide is celebrating it's 9th year; "The 2014 HLPA Wood & Lumber Resource Guide" will again be inserted in Building Industry Magazine's June issue, and contain relevant and up-to-date information on building Hawaii's Homes with wood!
